What is Asmuyao Community School?

Asmuyao Community School was founded in April 1972 and is a non-profit, non-discriminatory establishment. The school  is a small but thriving establishment staffed with individuals that recognize the need for alternative educational options  for students in the island community. ACS is an accredited institution by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). The school  is operated by qualified staff and governed by a Board of Trustees. All teachers are fully certified in their area of study.  Asmuyao provides an independent study program and uses the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) adopted by the Guam Department of Education. Its curriculum mirrors that of the the Guam district schools. Students may enroll in the ACS program as a full-time or part-time student. Each student is prepared an individual plan that is necessary to fulfill requirements for high school graduation.  Parents are highly encouraged to be active participants for students' success.

Any individual with the desire to obtain a high school diploma is welcomed at Asmuyao. There are no age limits, even if you have been out of school for several years.  Part-time students coming from a GDOE school or a private school are welcomed for credit recovery or advancement.
